When is a point against a good thing? When it’s not three points against, of course.

The Blind Squirrels allowed Boss Hog-Line its second point in the 2nd end, but never looked back after that en route to a 6-3 win Tuesday night in Anthracite Curling Club 2010 Summer League action. The win puts the Squirrels (2-0-1) atop the Buckwheat Division going into next week’s League sabbatical. (more…)

Squirrels aiming to foil Boss Hog’s plans June 1, 2010

The Blind Squirrels return to the ice tonight seemingly with its toughest test of the season ahead of them. Tonight at 8 on Sheet 3, Schuylkill County’s curlers face Boss Hog-Line, a big winner in its only draw of the season.

The Squirrels haven’t been on the ice at Coal Street Park in Wilkes-Barre for more than 10 days when they did all they could to force a tie against Stone Cold, 4-4. In its first and only draw, Boss Hog-Line defeated Team XVI, 12-0. (more…)

The Blind Squirrels take the ice in Wilkes-Barre tonight at 8 with its aim on staying in first place of Anthracite Curling Club’s Buckwheat Division. The team faces a squad Skipped by John Flyte (who appeared on the WNEP story about the club two months ago). (more…)

Squirrels turn away Team RAMROD on quirky ice May 14, 2010

The new Zamboni at the Coal Street Ice Complex looked good in its garage, but its unpredictable solution to Thursday night’s curling surface left many frustrated or confused at the end of the first night in Anthracite Curling Club’s first night of League play.

Schuylkill Blind Squirrels capitalized on one of the few predictable ends during its prime-time draw with division foes Team RAMROD, scoring four points in the 3rd to secure a 9-3 win. The Squirrels are 1-0 and in first place in the Buckwheat Division of ACC League play. The team curls next week at 8 versus another division foe, Team 4. (more…)
